Sugar beet Britney

Beet sugar variety Britney is a diploid hybrid developed in the USA, characterized by stable yield and high sugar content. This variety features a broad-conical root shape with even form and full depth of root placement in the soil. The leaf rosette is semi-umbellate, which promotes good plant development. Britney has a high sugar potential — up to 21.5%, with an average sugar content of about 19%, as well as high yield potential, reaching 112 tons per hectare, with an average yield of 80 tons over test years.

The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem and North Caucasus regions, due to its adaptation to local climatic conditions. It exhibits high responsiveness to agronomic practices, allowing effective management of the growing process and stable results. Sugar beet Britney is suitable for mid-to-late harvest periods, providing flexibility in agricultural planning.

Additionally, the variety shows high resistance to diseases and stress factors. It is resistant to powdery mildew, root rots, nematodes, and rhizomania, significantly reducing the risk of yield losses. Rapid growth during the spring period contributes to good plant development and high-quality yield. Root mass is approximately 454 grams, which is an optimal indicator for this type of hybrid.
