Sugar beet BTS 1920

Yield Stability in High-Risk Zones

The BTS 1920 sugar beet hybrid from the US breeding company Betaseed is a robust solution for farms where soil phytosanitary conditions are a primary concern. Classified as a Normal (NE) type, this hybrid focuses on harvest reliability and consistent performance rather than extreme sugar concentrations, especially under heavy infection pressure.

Agronomic Resilience as a Foundation

The defining characteristic of BTS 1920 is its comprehensive genetic defense against soil-borne pathogens. Unlike high-intensity hybrids that often collapse under the pressure of root rots, BTS 1920 maintains crop viability even during challenging growing seasons:

• High tolerance to Aphanomyces root rot and Fusarium makes it indispensable for fields with tight crop rotations.
• Efficient resistance to Cercospora and powdery mildew helps reduce the frequency of fungicide applications, effectively lowering production costs.

Who is this hybrid for?

BTS 1920 is the choice for pragmatic agronomists who prioritize reliability. It is perfectly suited for regions with humid or warm climates where rot diseases pose a significant threat. By choosing this hybrid, you ensure that your crop reaches harvest with minimal stand loss. It is a balanced solution for those looking to mitigate risk by opting for genetically fortified planting material from a trusted originator.
