Description Baikal
Sugar beet BAIKAL is a high-yielding one-spikelet diploid hybrid on a sterile NE-type base, intended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth and North Caucasus regions. The root has a conical-oval shape and white color, with soil immersion reaching 80%. The leaf apparatus is well-developed; leaves are semi-erect and green, which contributes to effective photosynthesis and plant growth.

This variety is distinguished by high root yield and medium sugar content, with the highest sugar output achieved at harvest in medium and late periods. BAIKAL is technologically friendly for harvesting with various types of combines, which facilitates the harvesting process and increases its efficiency. In addition, the content of molasses-forming substances in the roots is below average, which positively affects the quality of raw material for sugar production.

BAIKAL possesses high resistance to diseases such as rhizomania and ramularia, as well as medium tolerance to cercosporosis and powdery mildew. The variety is weakly affected by rootworm, which further increases its reliability and yield stability. Thanks to its adaptability to various climatic conditions and disease resistance, BAIKAL is an optimal choice for agronomists seeking to obtain a high-quality sugar beet harvest.
