Description RAUM
RAUM is a high-yielding sugar beet hybrid (Beta vulgaris L. ssp. vulgaris var. saccharifera Alef.) intended for high sugar and root yield. The hybrid belongs to the medium-maturing high-yielding-sweet type with a growing season of about 210 days. It is characterized by a single-seed structure and is presented as a diploid or triploid hybrid based on sterile N-type cytoplasm. The plant has uniform roots of a broad-conical shape, buried in the soil by about three-quarters, with a semi-spreading leaf rosette that promotes good development and resistance to unfavorable conditions. RAUM demonstrates high yield and sugar content in various regions. In the Central Black Earth region, average root yield is about 421-430 ц/га with 17.4-18.2% sugar content, allowing for sugar collection of up to 74-75 ц/га. In the North Caucasian region, yield reaches 466.3 ц/га with 17.2% sugar content, allowing for sugar collection of up to 84.3 ц/га. The hybrid's sugar potential reaches 19.7%, and yield potential reaches up to 95 т/га, making it a profitable choice for growing under both sufficient and insufficient moisture conditions. The RAUM hybrid is resistant to diseases such as rhizomania and cercosporosis, as well as having moderate resistance to root rot. However, it is susceptible to root-eating nematodes and powdery mildew, which requires appropriate agronomic measures. Recommended for medium and late harvest dates. Sowing rate varies depending on soil moisture: in areas of insufficient moisture — 70-75 thousand seeds per hectare, in areas of sufficient moisture — 75-85 thousand seeds per hectare. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, the RAUM hybrid is a reliable choice for sweet production in various climatic conditions.
