Sugar beet 9 RV 6878

Stability and Yield: The 9 RV 6878 Advantage

The 9 RV 6878 sugar beet is the result of intensive breeding collaboration between the Betasem and Prodimex teams. Developed in Russia, this hybrid represents the classic NE (normal-yield) type, which serves as a foundation for agricultural producers aiming for predictable results under intensive farming conditions.

Agronomic Profile and Disease Resistance

The primary value of 9 RV 6878 lies in its balanced genetics. Given the risks associated with high infection pressure in sugar beet production, this hybrid exhibits strong resistance to key pathogens. It shows particular robustness against root rot (common in early stages), downy mildew, powdery mildew, and the particularly aggressive Cercospora leaf spot. This high phytosanitary threshold allows producers to reduce the frequency of fungicide applications, effectively lowering the cost per ton of harvested crop.

Technological Niche

This hybrid is well-adapted to key beet-growing regions where stable yield is the priority. The NE-type categorization indicates a focus on consistent performance rather than extreme sugar content spikes. Agronomists note the exceptional uniformity of the stand and high seed germination energy. Thanks to the meticulous work of the originators (Betasem, Prodimex, and Pz Nasha Rodina), the 9 RV 6878 has undergone rigorous field testing, proving its suitability for long-term storage and excellent harvestability.
