The "Prestige" sugar beet variety is the result of long-term breeding work by specialists at the Pervomayskaya Selection and Research Station (SOS). The originators—A.G. Shevchenko, V.A. Logvinov, and V.N. Mishchenko—focused on stability in intensive farming, where the phytosanitary status of crops is the key success factor.

NZ Type: The Balance of Yield and Sugar Content

This hybrid belongs to the Normal-Sugar (NZ) type. In practice, this means an optimal ratio between root mass and sucrose concentration (15-16%). This breeding strategy allows agronomists to minimize harvest risks: the plant develops significant biomass without a major loss in the technological quality of the raw material.

Morphology and Pathogen Protection

The "Prestige" root features a distinct rounded-conical shape and large size, facilitating the operation of harvesting machinery and reducing loss and damage rates during extraction from the soil. A critical technical feature is its high genetic resistance to various root rots. Under conditions of high humidity or soil-borne infection pressure, this variety demonstrates the ability to maintain root integrity, which directly impacts storage safety in clamps.
