Altair soybean variety is a versatile cultivar with high yield and medium maturity. The plant, of medium leafiness, reaches a height of 60-70 cm and is characterized by resistance to diseases, including lodging and seed shattering. The seeds have a sickle-shaped form and contain about 43% protein and 20% oil, making this variety attractive for agricultural production. Sowing is recommended to be carried out at the end of April — beginning of May with a seeding rate of 110 kg per hectare, which ensures a yield of up to 2.0 tons per hectare.
The Altair variety was developed based on a complex hybrid population obtained by crossing North American and Canadian varieties, and belongs to the Slavic subgroup. It possesses early maturity and a prolonged reproductive period, ensuring stable seed yield. The vegetative period is approximately 118 days, allowing this variety to be grown almost throughout Ukraine, as well as in Belarus and Russia. In field conditions, the variety demonstrates high resistance to fungal, bacterial, and viral diseases.
Altair is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones due to its adaptability and resistance. Its high commercial quality and stable yield make it a profitable choice for farmers aiming for efficient and high-quality soybean production. Thanks to its characteristics, this variety is widely used in agriculture and contributes to the development of crop farming in cultivation regions.
