GLEISDORF GL MELANI is an early-maturing soybean variety intended for feed, food, and industrial use. The plant is characterized by a semi-determinate or indeterminate growth habit with a medium height of 60-70 cm. Flowers are purple, stem pubescence is reddish-brown, and seeds are yellow with a yellow hilum. The mass of 1000 seeds is approximately 160-170 g, and the vegetative period lasts about 110-115 days. The variety is adapted for cultivation on various soil types, including sandy, light, and medium soils, and is recommended for regions with a Central Chernozem climate, such as the Oryol, Kursk, and Tambov regions. GLEISDORF GL MELANI differs in high yield, which reaches 44.1 c/ha in favorable conditions, with an average regional yield of about 28.4 c/ha. Protein content in seeds varies from 36.7% to 43.3%, and fat content is about 20.6-21.1%. The variety is resistant to diseases such as downy mildew, septoria, sclerotinia, and bacterial infections, as well as possessing resistance to lodging and seed shattering, which contributes to a stable harvest even in unfavorable years. For successful cultivation, sowing is recommended when the soil warms up to 10-12°C at a sowing rate of 60-70 viable seeds per square meter. Fertilizer application should consider the plant's needs for phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium, while nitrogen application is recommended only on poor soils at a dose of up to 30 kg/ha. Seed treatment with inoculants and the use of herbicides depending on the weed composition is mandatory. Harvest should begin at a seed moisture content of 14-18% to avoid losses and preserve product quality.
