OAK MENDO soybean is a medium-early grain soybean variety recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and forest zones, as well as successfully adapted to the conditions of the Far East region. The growing period of the variety is 111 days, which ensures timely ripening and high productivity. The plants have an indeterminate growth type and an average height of about 72.5 cm, which facilitates agricultural operations and reduces the risk of lodging. The height of attachment of the lower pod is approximately 13 cm, which is an important indicator for mechanized harvesting.
The variety is characterized by high initial growth energy and resistance to a number of diseases, confirmed by an endurance rating of 8 to 9 points. OAK MENDO seeds have a yellow color with a yellow or gray hilum, a mass of 1000 seeds of about 181 grams, which indicates large-fruitedness. An important feature is the high protein content - about 40.2% and fat - 20.3%, which makes this variety attractive for use in both the food industry and feed production.
The potential yield of the variety is quite high - the average yield in the Far East region reaches 20.9 c/ha, and the maximum - 27.6 c/ha. At the same time, the variety demonstrates stable yield indicators in various regions of the region, which confirms its adaptability and reliability. The main stem pubescence varies from gray to reddish-brown, flowers can be white or purple, and lateral leaflets have a lanceolate or acuminate-ovate shape. All these morphological characteristics contribute to the identification of the variety and its breeding value.
