SAMER 4

The "Samer 4" soy variety is an early-maturing grain crop intended for cultivation in the Middle Volga region, including the Penza and Samara regions. The plant is of a determinate growth type, erect, with a height of about 67.8 cm and a 1000-seed weight of approximately 153.5 g. The vegetation period is about 113 days. Seeds are of medium size, elongated, yellow with a yellow hilum, while the flowers have a purple coloration. The main stem has reddish-brown pubescence, and the leaflet of the complex leaf is lanceolate-ovate, which is a characteristic morphological feature of the variety. The "Samer 4" variety is distinguished by high yield and grain quality. The average seed yield in the region is 18.1 c/ha, with a maximum yield up to 30.3 c/ha recorded at the Zainovsky GOS of the Republic of Tatarstan. Protein content in seeds reaches 33.9%, and fat content is 20.8%, ensuring high nutritional value of the product. Another source indicates a crude protein content of 40.2% and fat of 18.0%, indicating variability of indicators depending on growing conditions. The height of attachment of the lower pod is 13.8 cm, which facilitates harvesting. The variety is resistant to fungal, bacterial, and viral diseases, has high resistance to lodging and shattering, rated at 5 points. It is well adapted to stress conditions and suitable for combine harvesting. The sowing rate is 0.8 million seeds/ha with row sowing.
