Sorghum Dash E — an early grain hybrid introduced into the State Register in 2005, distinguished by high plasticity and drought resistance. This hybrid belongs to the early maturity group with a vegetation period of 110–120 days and an average plant height of 100–115 cm. Thanks to its strong root system, Dash E successfully withstands drought and stressful conditions, ensuring stable yields up to 12 t/ha. The bronze-colored grain contains no tannin, making it particularly valuable for the food industry. The thousand-grain weight is approximately 29.5 g, with protein and starch content reaching 10.6% and 78.7% respectively. The hybrid exhibits moderate bushiness — from 2 to 6 depending on growing conditions — and has an average panicle size, contributing to its high yield potential. It is adaptable to various soil types and produces stable yields regardless of soil condition. The optimal temperature for comfortable growth is approximately +30 °C. Dash E is well adapted for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine, including steppe regions, and can be successfully grown both as a monoculture and following predecessors such as wheat, corn, and leguminous crops. Sorghum Dash E exhibits high resistance to diseases and stress: resistance to mold, head rot, helminthosporium, and fusarium is rated at 8–9 points, with high resistance to lodging and stressful conditions. Additionally, the variety is resistant to powdery mildew. The hybrid’s use direction — for food purposes and as fodder — makes it a versatile and profitable choice for agricultural producers.
