Sorghum RM 226

French Excellence in Silage Sorghum

Sorghum RM 226, developed by the renowned French breeding house Euralis Semences, represents a specialized solution for farmers focused on high-quality silage production. Created by breeder Serge Clamens, this variety balances a 100–110 day vegetation period with a robust agronomic profile, enabling it to maximize biomass production in various environmental conditions.

Core Advantages and Technical Profile

• Superior Silage Potential: With a plant height of 180–200 cm, RM 226 provides a substantial volume of green mass, essential for high-capacity forage operations.
• Nutritional Density: The dark-brown grain is recognized for its stable energy content, making the resulting silage a premium component for dairy and beef cattle diets.
• Agro-Technical Reliability: Euralis Semences genetics are famous for their plasticity. RM 226 adapts well to diverse soil types, ensuring consistent growth and predictable maturity stages.

Who Should Choose RM 226?

RM 226 is an ideal asset for livestock-centric farms. Its dual focus on silage and grain allows farmers to maintain flexibility during harvest time. Unlike generic varieties that might prioritize vegetative bulk at the expense of grain quality, RM 226 is engineered for a balanced energy-to-fiber ratio.

Compared to market competitors, this variety stands out for its structural integrity—the plants maintain good standability, which is critical for reducing harvesting downtime and minimizing yield losses. If your operational objective is to secure reliable, nutrient-dense forage with minimal risk, the Euralis RM 226 is one of the most dependable options available for your planting program.
