The hybrid sugar sorghum Sioux is a medium-maturing variety, certified by OECD and developed in the USA. It is characterized by high yield potential reaching 800-1200 ц/ha, with an average yield in Ukraine of 600-700 ц/ha. The plant has a sturdy stem, 200-250 cm tall, with a tillering coefficient of 4-6, ensuring good resistance and productivity. Brown seeds have a particle size of 3.5-4.5 mm and are treated with the fungicide Maxim XL, antidote Concept III, and insecticide Cruiser 350 FS for protection against diseases and pests. Sorghum Sioux is widely used in various agricultural and industrial sectors. It is suitable for producing high-quality silage, green mass, livestock grazing, as well as for obtaining biogas, bioethanol, and sorghum syrup. The vegetation period of the hybrid is 115-120 days, allowing early planting and stable yields. The seeding rate is 160-250 thousand seeds per hectare, promoting optimal plant development and maximum productivity. The grain quality of the Sioux hybrid is distinguished by high nutrient content: protein is 11.5%, starch — 68%, fat — 3.5%, and tannin content reaches 5%. The juice of the plant contains 20-21% sugar, making it especially valuable for producing sorghum syrup and bioethanol. Seed packaging is done in paper bags of 20 kg, convenient for storage and transportation. Thanks to its morphological and technological characteristics, the Sioux hybrid is a reliable choice for farmers seeking multi-purpose sorghum use.
