Picador is a systemic selective herbicide designed for the effective destruction of annual broadleaf and grass weeds, including quarantine species, in legume crops such as soybeans and peas. The active ingredient of the product is imazethapyr at a concentration of 100 g/l, belonging to the chemical group of imidazolinones. The mechanism of action of the herbicide is based on disrupting cell division and weed growth, leading to their death. Picador is absorbed by both the root system and the leaf surface of plants, providing long-term weed control throughout the entire growing season.
The product is released in the form of a soluble concentrate and is applied once with a consumption rate of 0.5 to 1.0 l/ha depending on the crop and conditions. It can be applied pre-sowing to the soil, as well as post-emergence in the phase of 3-6 true leaves of crops at temperatures from 12 to 25 °C. Picador is compatible with legume crops and various soil types, however, it is not recommended to mix it with sulfonylureas, other imidazolinones, and grass-killing herbicides.
The wide spectrum of action of the product covers weeds such as knapweed, chickweed, quackgrass, johnsongrass, proso millet, Russian thistle, parthenium, partridge pea, purple deadnettle, dock, datura, mustard, nettle, nightshade, amaranth, sowthistle, and many others. The packaging of the Picador herbicide is presented in a volume of 20 liters, which ensures convenience of use on large areas. According to the WHO classification, the product belongs to class 3 of danger, which requires compliance with safety measures when working with it.
