EUROSORGHO HYPERION is a mid-season sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) variety intended for green mass production and feed use. The plants are tall, reaching up to 2.9 meters in height, with a wide panicle about 20 cm long and a moderate leafiness of approximately 40%. The grain of this variety has an ellipsoid or round shape in a yellowish-white color; the mass of 1000 grains is approximately 27 grams. The dry matter content in green mass varies from 28% to 37.6%, ensuring high nutritional value for the feed. The variety is characterized by high yield and good adaptation to various climatic conditions, including arid regions. The average yield of green mass varies by region from 94.5 to 852.5 centners/hectare under irrigation and from 205 to 403 centners/hectare on dry land. EUROSORGHO HYPERION demonstrates drought resistance and a pronounced "Stay-Green" effect, which contributes to the prolonged retention of green mass. The sugar content in plants reaches 21.4%, and the organic matter digestibility is about 61.7%, making the variety particularly valuable for feed production and bioethanol manufacturing. Recommended sowing rates depend on growing conditions: from 160-180 thousand seeds per hectare in arid areas to 240 thousand seeds under irrigation. EUROSORGHO HYPERION is successfully used in various regions, including Almaty, Turkistan, East Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, and Aktobe regions. High protein content (about 13.4%) and an optimal fiber balance (33%) ensure quality animal feeding, while high yield and adaptability make this variety a profitable choice for agricultural enterprises.
