Sorghum Anshlag

Reliability and Performance in Sorghum Production

Finding a sorghum variety that performs consistently across different seasons is challenging. The 'Anshlag' variety, developed by RosNIIPTI SK, has proven itself in field operations as a reliable choice for farmers aiming for both grain yield and hay production.

Field Performance and Agronomic Characteristics

With a vegetation period of 80–90 days, 'Anshlag' is well-suited for regions where harvest timing is critical. The plants reach a height of 90–100 cm, which is ideal for avoiding lodging; even in windy conditions, the crops stand firm, which saves time and minimizes losses during harvest. The light-brown grain matures uniformly, making the threshing process straightforward and efficient.

Disease Resistance and Maintenance

One of the key reasons to choose 'Anshlag' is its built-in resistance to common threats like Fusarium and Smut. For a farm manager, this translates directly into reduced fungicide expenditures. Furthermore, the variety’s resistance to aphids is a significant advantage, as it eliminates the need for aggressive insecticide programs. It is a crop that stays healthy with minimal intervention.

Operational Tips

• Dual Purpose: Whether you are harvesting for hay or waiting for grain, the variety adapts well to both cycles. Cutting early provides excellent feed mass, while late-season harvest yields high-quality grain.
• Mechanical Efficiency: The 90-100 cm height is perfect for standard sowing and harvesting equipment, requiring no specialized modifications.
• Storage: The grain quality allows for easy handling in drying complexes without complex temperature adjustments.

If you need a balanced, disease-resistant variety that is easy to manage and provides predictable yields, 'Anshlag' is an excellent addition to your crop rotation.
