Sorghum RGT ALIGGATOR

French breeding for stable grain sorghum yields

The RAGT 'RGT Alligator' hybrid is the choice for farmers focused on high-quality grain production with minimal fungicide costs. Within the early-maturing sorghum segment, this hybrid stands out for its technical efficiency and pure grain composition.

Key Advantages

• Tannin-free: A critical metric for livestock and feed production. The absence of tannins makes RGT Alligator an ideal ingredient for compound feeds, increasing digestibility and nutritional value.
• High starch yield: A starch content of 70-80% positions this hybrid as a top choice for farms specializing in livestock and poultry fattening.
• Immune profile: Genetic resistance to Fusarium and smut significantly reduces the risk of quality loss during humid seasons. The hybrid demonstrates excellent resistance to Helminthosporium and stalk rot, allowing for fewer chemical applications.

Agronomic profile

The growing season for RGT Alligator ranges from 90 to 100 days. This makes it a reliable workhorse for regions with short growing seasons or farms practicing double-cropping. The medium-height plant (100-130 cm) is easy to harvest: it shows excellent lodging resistance, minimizing field losses during combine operations.

Who is this hybrid for? RGT Alligator is optimal for farmers looking for a corn alternative in arid environments. Thanks to its white grain and high energy value, it is in demand not only as a feed base but also within the food industry. Its core strength lies in its consistency under stress and its high ease of harvest.
