The ZENITH grain sorghum variety is a mid-early hybrid intended for grain-fodder and food production. The plant is characterized by low-medium height (107-126 cm), a symmetrical medium-length ear, and light-yellow glumes at maturity. The grain is round on the back, yellowish-white in color, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 25.4 to 32 g. Protein content in the grain is 13-14%, and starch content is 70-72%, ensuring high nutritional value for feed and food use.
The vegetative period from germination to full grain maturity is 100-105 days, allowing for effective planning of agro-technical measures. Grain yield reaches 3.6-4.2 t/ha, and green mass yield is 14.0-18.6 t/ha. For sowing, the wide-row method is recommended with a row spacing of 45-70 cm and a plant density of 100-120 thousand plants per hectare, with a seed rate of 3.8-4.6 kg/ha of viable seeds.
The ZENITH variety is adapted for cultivation in the Middle-Volga and Ural regions, demonstrating stable yield and resistance to local conditions. Thanks to its characteristics, it is a universal solution for agricultural producers interested in obtaining high-quality grain and green mass. It is important to note that to protect sorghum crops from pests, specialized insecticides are recommended, however, a product named "Zenith" in this context refers to a separate chemical agent and is not related to the variety.
