Sorghum Bianca is a mid-early hybrid developed to produce high-quality white grain with starch content over 75-80%. Plants reach an average height of 90 cm to 1.2 m, have a semi-open panicle, and exhibit excellent water shedding. Due to its very low tannin content, the grain is suitable for feeding various types of livestock, making this variety universal and in demand in agriculture.
The hybrid has high drought, lodging, and resistance to major diseases such as anthracnose and powdery mildew. This ensures a stable yield even under adverse weather conditions and temperature fluctuations. Sorghum Bianca is adapted to various agroclimatic conditions, allowing successful cultivation in different regions of Ukraine, including the Southern and Northern Steppes.
It is recommended to use high-quality seed material from the European company Alta Seeds, selected from the USA. Seed germination rate is approximately 85%, and the recommended seeding rate is 100-130 thousand seeds per hectare at optimal soil moisture. One bag weighing approximately 22.5 kg is sufficient for sowing about 3-3.2 hectares. Seeding should be conducted at soil temperature of 12-14°C to achieve maximum yield potential, which can reach 10 tons per hectare and more.
