Hawthorn 'Vasiliy Ivanovich' – a medium variety with a strongly growing bush and medium spreading. Shoots are light green, shiny, and hairless; thorns are located only at the bottom part of the shoots, short and light-colored. Leaves are large, dark green, with a matte, concave plate and sharp teeth.
Inflorescences are multi-flowered: flowers are of medium size, pink, and berries are egg-shaped, red, with a thick skin and without hair. Average berry weight is 3.6 g, vitamin C content reaches 2000 mg/%. Yield is about 46 c/ha, and fruits have good juiciness and loose flesh.
The variety is distinguished by high frost hardiness and resistance to diseases and pests. It is suitable for both garden cultivation and industrial processing (drying, syrups, preparations). The bush reaches a height of about 2.5 m; the root system is closed, which ensures stable growth in sunny places. Fruiting begins in the second year, and the seedling service life is about three years.
