Rosehip variety "Mayak" – a medium variety intended for technical processing. The bush is of medium height and width, with a dense but not too thick structure. Canes are thick, straight, and covered with a matte pinkish bark, giving the plant a distinctive appearance.
Fruits are oval-shaped, red in color with medium-thickness skin, average weight – 3.2 g. Inside contains a large amount of Vitamin C – up to 2850 mg/%. Thorns are located only in the lower part of the stem and have a light-colored appearance.
The variety is characterized by frost resistance, disease and pest resistance, which ensures stable yield – about 33 c/ha. Thanks to these characteristics, "Mayak" is suitable for drying, syrup production, and various preparations based on rosehip.
