Hippophae rhamnoides variety 'Happy' – a medium-sized shrub 0.5–1.5 m tall, characterized by moderate yield and high cold resistance. The bush has bent green shoots with thin thorns located only on the lower part of the stem, which facilitates fruit harvesting. Leaves are of medium size, smooth, without extra thorns, with sharp short serrations.
The fruits of this variety are oval in shape, light red in color, with medium skin density and a mass of about 3 g. Inside, there is a large amount of vitamin C – up to 2500 mg per % of the fruit, as well as B, A, E, K vitamins and minerals. Thanks to such a composition, the rose hip is widely used in folk medicine: strengthens immunity, normalizes blood pressure, improves skin condition and helps with various diseases.
The 'Happy' variety is suitable both for home growing and for industrial processing. Its berries dry easily and are used in the preparation of teas, compotes, juices, as well as in cosmetic products for skin rejuvenation. Thanks to cold hardiness and the absence of sharp damage by diseases and pests, the plant ensures a stable yield even under unfavorable climatic conditions.
