Description RYZHIK
Sea-buckthorn «Ryzhik» is a dwarf shrub with a moderately spreading crown, well-tolerant of frost and resistant to diseases. The bush reaches a medium height, with straight, dark-brown, matte, non-glandular shoots, making the plant convenient for growing in open ground.

The fruits of «Ryzhik» are oval-elongated, acutely cylindrical in shape, weighing from 0.6 to 0.9 grams. The skin is thick and dense, while inside there are large berries with a sour-sweet taste and refreshing aroma. The fruit color is dark red, indicating a high concentration of anthocyanins and vitamin C (about 111 mg%). The fruits are of universal purpose: they can be used for food, baking, making compotes, juices, and infusions.

The yield of the variety is high – up to 1.2 kg/m² or about 19 kg per bush. The «Ryzhik» variety received recognition at the state variety testing in 1995 and is recommended for growing in the Ural, West Siberian, and Central regions. Due to the good transportability of the fruits and resistance to low temperatures, the plant is suitable for both commercial production and home gardening.
