Description
Sea-buckthorn "Amber Necklace" – is a late-maturing large-fruit variety obtained at the South-Ural Scientific Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Potato Breeding from free pollination of the "Prevoskhodnaya" variety. Bushes are of medium height, slightly spreading, with straight dark brown shoots without pubescence. Leaves are large and light green.
Fruits of this variety are large, weighing about 1.5 g, oval-shaped and light orange in color. They have thick skin and a sweet-sour taste, making them versatile for both food and industrial use. The berries contain 142 mg% of vitamin C, as well as 5% sugar, 2.4% acid, and 6% oil.
"Amber Necklace" is characterized by high yield – averaging about 1.5 kg/m² (or 136.1 c/ha) – and resistance to low temperatures, diseases, and pests. Bushes withstand frost up to -50 °C well and are suitable for growing in the Urals, Western Siberia, and Central regions.
