Sea buckthorn "Andros" – an early-maturing male variety, primarily intended as a pollinator for female plants of the same period. The plant is characterized by dense branches, on which numerous stamens form from mid-May to mid-June, ensuring a rich pollen reserve.
To maintain a high level of flowering and optimal growth, bushes must be regularly pruned: excessive branch density reduces the number of flowers. "Andros" is distinguished by high frost resistance – it withstands temperatures down to -25…-30 °C, and is also resistant to most diseases.
The variety grows well on fertile soils of any type, prefers sunny areas with sufficient watering, and can be cultivated in both moderate and colder climates. When planting, it is recommended to maintain a distance of no more than 50 m from female plants (ratio 1 to 5 maximum) and between bushes themselves – from 1 to 3 m.
Sea buckthorn "Andros" is widely used in gardening for producing oil and food products, as well as a decorative element due to its durability and attractive appearance.
