A Reliable Choice for Stable Grain Production

Winter rye "Kyivska 80," developed by the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agriculture of NAAS," is an adaptive variety designed specifically for the diverse climatic zones of Ukraine. It serves as a benchmark for growers seeking to combine high yield potential with resilience against unpredictable seasonal stressors.

Field Performance and Agronomy

Farmers prioritize "Kyivska 80" because of its consistent behavior across various soil types and its ability to thrive even in low-input management systems. Key technical features include:

• Exceptional lodging resistance: the sturdy straw structure allows for efficient harvesting, even in wet conditions.
• Strong winter hardiness: the variety exhibits a high survival rate, which ensures optimal plant density even after harsh winters.
• Natural immunity: its natural resistance to common grain diseases significantly reduces the need for frequent chemical interventions.

Practical Application Scenarios

In terms of farm operations, "Kyivska 80" is widely used to manage risk within the crop rotation. It is an excellent choice for fields where more demanding cereals might underperform. The variety performs well under standard cultivation techniques, effectively utilizing early spring moisture, which is crucial for building yield before the summer heat. With average yields ranging from 50 to 70 quintals per hectare, it provides a dependable economic output. Whether integrated into intensive or extensive farming models, "Kyivska 80" remains a staple for producers aiming to maximize profitability while maintaining high grain quality suitable for baking purposes.
