Description Kyivs'ke 90
Kyivs'ke 90 is winter rye, a cereal crop from the grass family, widely used both for grain production and as forage. Rye is known for its high cold tolerance: seeds can germinate at 0°C, and the optimal temperature for root development is around 3.8°C. The recommended seeding rate is 1.6–2 kg per 100 square meters, ensuring good plant growth and high yield.

Rye has a powerful, branched root system reaching up to 1.5 meters in length, which effectively loosens the soil, improves its water retention and aeration. As a result, rye serves as an excellent cover crop, enriching the soil with important nutrients such as potassium, nitrogen, and phosphorus. Additionally, the crop protects soil from erosion, nutrient leaching, suppresses weed growth, and reduces pest infestation, including nematodes and wireworms, as well as bacterial and fungal diseases.

The grain of Kyivs'ke 90 rye is valued for its high protein, vitamin, and mineral content, making it in demand for bread, flour, kvass, and other food products. Successful cultivation requires specific conditions of temperature, humidity, and light, as well as proper seed storage to maintain quality and prevent losses. Thus, Kyivs'ke 90 is a versatile and beneficial crop for both agriculture and the food industry.
