Description PUHOVCHANKA
PUHOVCHANKA is a winter rye variety developed by the Kaliningrad Research Institute of Agriculture. It belongs to tetraploid forms and is characterized by medium-late maturity with a vegetation period of 278 to 317 days. Plants reach heights from 126 to 157 cm, have white weakly cylindrical ears about 9 cm long, and oval-elongated green large-grained seeds. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 34.8 to 47.8 grams, indicating high seed quality.

The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and cold resistance, making it a reliable choice for growing in regions with severe winters. PUHOVCHANKA has medium resistance to drought and lodging, as well as medium resistance to shattering. In terms of disease resistance, it corresponds to the standard, but may be affected by diseases such as grey and stem rust, powdery mildew, and snow mold. Protein content in the grain is at the level of 9.9%, confirming its nutritional value.

The average yield of the variety is 43.4 centners per hectare, while maximum indicators reach 68.4 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding standard indicators. PUHOVCHANKA seeds germinate well even on elevated terrain and are resistant to sub-zero temperatures, allowing them to be used for sowing in various climatic conditions. The minimum delivery batch is 5 tons, which is convenient for large agricultural enterprises.
