LO 163 P X LO 182 N is a first-generation hybrid of winter rye (Secale cereale L.) diploid form, possessing a medium-maturing type with a vegetative period from 276 to 337 days. Plants of this hybrid have a medium height from 88 to 146 cm, a short stem of medium length, and a semi-bent, dense ear of medium length. The coleoptile is colored, and the stem hairing below the ear is moderate. The waxy coating on the ear varies from medium to strong, while on the flag leaf sheath it is medium. The grain is of medium size with a dark aleurone layer color; the mass of 1000 grains ranges from 32 to 40 grams. The hybrid is characterized by medium winter hardiness and enhanced drought resistance compared to the variety Volkhova. Lodging resistance is at the level of the standard Moskovskaya 12, with which the hybrid matures simultaneously. Under field conditions, the hybrid shows weak powdery mildew damage and medium resistance to brown rust, ensuring yield stability. Average yield in recommended regions is 42.5 c/ha, while in the Kaliningrad region, the hybrid showed an increase of 10.3 c/ha over the standard Moskovskaya 12, reaching a yield of 68.2 c/ha. The maximum yield was recorded in the Leningrad region and amounted to 85.9 c/ha. LO 163 P X LO 182 N is recommended for cultivation in the North-West, Central, Volga-Vyatskaya, and Central Black Earth regions, as well as in the Kaliningrad region. The hybrid is intended for farms with a yield level above 40 c/ha. Baking qualities of the hybrid are satisfactory; protein content in the grain corresponds to varieties Moskovskaya 12 and Dyamka. A high fall number (225-246 seconds) indicates good flour quality, making this hybrid attractive for the production of bakery products.
