The PC SK 1 rootstock is a medium-sized tree with spindle-shaped crowns and a powerful root system, ensuring good anchorage and suitability for mechanized fruit harvesting. Its leaves are medium-sized, elongated, inversely obovate, smooth and matte, while the shoots are medium, branched, and straight, creating a harmonious crown structure.
The key advantage of the rootstock is high winter hardiness and resistance to heavy soils, salinity, waterlogging, and drought. Thanks to these properties, the tree maintains productivity under unfavorable climatic conditions. Plums grafted on this rootstock differ by stable yields of up to 130 kg per tree at a 5×2 planting scheme.
PC SK 1 propagation is carried out using woody cuttings, making the seedling production process more cost-effective. Bud take in budding reaches 95–98 %, while rooting of cuttings reaches 96–100 %. The rootstock is also resistant to polystigmosis and root canker, enhancing its long-term productivity in garden conditions.
