Rootstock 675(32)

A Robust Foundation for Intensive Orchards

The 675(32) rootstock, developed by the experts at Michurinsk GAU, is a specialized clone rootstock designed for challenging climatic conditions. Created by a team of renowned breeders—Budagovsky, Potapov, and Chaplieva—this variety is engineered to provide stability and high productivity in regions where standard rootstocks fail due to extreme cold.

Key Operational Advantages

• Exceptional Cold Tolerance: With the ability to withstand soil temperatures as low as -35°C, this rootstock significantly lowers the risk of orchard loss during harsh winters, eliminating the need for complex soil insulation methods.
• Optimized Growth Control: As a dwarf rootstock, it forces the trees to allocate energy toward early and prolific fruiting rather than excessive vegetative growth. This leads to a faster return on investment for new orchard projects.
• High Compatibility: The genetic profile of 675(32) offers broad compatibility with popular apple varieties, ensuring healthy graft unions and tree longevity.

In a practical farming context, 675(32) is the preferred choice for intensive orchard management. Its root system provides strong anchorage, reducing the need for costly trellising systems compared to other dwarf alternatives. The controlled canopy size simplifies daily maintenance tasks such as pruning, spraying, and harvesting, directly reducing labor costs per hectare. For producers focusing on durability, 675(32) offers a reliable and proven path to building a high-density orchard that remains productive even in the face of unpredictable weather cycles.
