Rootstock URAL 10

Stability and Winter Hardiness: The "URAL 10" Advantage

In high-risk fruit growing, the orchard's longevity starts not with the graft, but with the rootstock. The "URAL 10" rootstock, developed by the Federal Research Center for Horticulture, was engineered specifically for climates prone to harsh winters and extreme temperature fluctuations. Its main strength lies in its ability to withstand freezing conditions while maintaining moderate tree growth.

Key Features and Benefits

• Controlled Growth: As a semi-dwarfing rootstock, it offers the perfect balance between high-vigor seedlings and fragile dwarfing clones. It provides trees with manageable canopy sizes, reducing the need for intensive labor and complex trellising systems.
• Winter Resilience: Unlike many imported rootstocks, "URAL 10" is specifically adapted to resist root damage during severe winter cold, ensuring the trees survive where others might fail.
• Compatibility: It exhibits excellent compatibility with major pome fruit cultivars, facilitating a high success rate in nursery grafting and robust root system development.

Why Choose "URAL 10"

This rootstock is the ideal choice for growers who prioritize orchard durability over short-term intensity. If you are operating in regions with challenging climates, "URAL 10" acts as a reliable foundation, minimizing tree mortality during difficult seasons. It is particularly well-suited for medium-scale commercial orchards or private plots where long-term yield stability is more important than quick-turnover intensive systems.
