Ruby is a columnar plum, belonging to the medium-maturity varieties and possessing high yield. The tree grows up to 3 m depending on crown formation; with proper care, it reaches an optimal height of about 1.5 meters.
The fruits of the «Ruby» variety differ in large size, dense golden flesh, and deep sweet taste with acidic nuances. The fruit skin is thick, the coloring varies from pink-violet to rich red-brown, which gives the berries an attractive appearance.
The plum «Ruby» tolerates frost and heat well, and is also resistant to transportation. The tree begins to bear fruit already in the 2–3rd year after planting, ripening in August. Before shipping, seedlings are pruned to ensure the correct shape and growth of the tree.
