The VC-13 clone rootstock is a medium-sized variant specifically developed for cherries and cherries. It features an upright form and a round, dense crown, ensuring good visual appeal and ease of care. The rootstock is easily propagated through green cuttings: green cuttings root within 14-16 days after planting, and the available number of cuttings allows for quick reproduction of a large number of plants.
The VC-13 root system is well-developed and ensures excellent anchorage for trees. Meanwhile, the rootstock does not form root suckers, which simplifies orchard management and reduces the risk of competition for resources with the grafted variety. Thanks to high rooting ability (70-80%) and resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses, plants adapt quickly to various growing conditions.
VC-13 shoots are medium, branching, and slightly arched with a grayish-brown surface color. Leaves are elliptical, smooth, shiny, and green, which promotes effective photosynthesis. The rootstock ensures early fruiting of grafted varieties and high productivity, as well as good drought resistance and frost hardiness, making it suitable for intensive technologies for growing stone fruits.
