Rice variety REGUL 2 is a medium-maturing Oryza sativa L. variety, possessing high agronomic and culinary qualities. The vegetation period is 116-120 days, which is slightly longer compared to the Spalchkreili variety. Plants reach a height of 75-95 cm, have a sturdy hollow stem and a slightly sprawling bush form. The panicle of the variety is compact, spindle-shaped, 14-17 cm long, containing 95-110 spikelets with a low level of sterility (9-11%). The grain is white, semi-elongated, with high translucency (98-100%) and a rice yield up to 69%, making the variety valuable for canning and soup preparation. The variety is characterized by high resistance to reduced positive temperatures during the seedling phase, which allows its use for early sowing with deep seed placement. Plants withstand a layer of water well during the seedling period and possess average resistance to soil salinization. Due to high productive bushiness, the variety compensates for the reduced seed rate, which is an important feature for agronomy. For optimal development, one top-dressing is recommended after the appearance of full seedlings, as double top-dressings may lead to excessive growth of vegetative mass and increased panicle sterility. The potential yield of REGUL 2 variety reaches 9-10 tons per hectare, while maximum yield indicators in trials reached 73.2 c/ha. The variety responds well to medium doses of nitrogen fertilizers and can be cultivated according to various technologies, including non-herbicide methods. High technological and culinary qualities, as well as resistance to unfavorable conditions, make REGUL 2 an attractive choice for agronomists seeking a stable and high-quality rice crop.
