Raspberry Vognik

A Benchmark of Ukrainian Breeding

The «Vohnyk» raspberry is a standout development from the L.P. Simirenko Institute of Pomology (NAAS of Ukraine). Designed specifically to thrive within the diverse climatic zones of Ukraine, this variety bridges the gap between commercial-grade fruit size and the low-maintenance requirements preferred by both hobbyist gardeners and boutique farmers. It represents a generation of locally-adapted fruit that prioritizes structural integrity and consistency.

Key Characteristics and Market Positioning

Unlike imported cultivars that often require intensive care, «Vohnyk» is celebrated for its resilience. It is a mid-season variety that offers a reliable harvest without the need for complex cultivation protocols. Its reputation in the market is cemented by the following traits:

• Fruit Quality: Elongated, vibrant red berries with a consistent weight exceeding 10g;
• Hardiness: Exceptional winter resistance, ensuring high productivity even after severe frost;
• Cultivation: Requires minimal intervention, making it highly efficient in terms of labor and resource management;
• Stability: The structural density of the berries ensures excellent transportability, a key feature for fresh market supply.

For those looking for a predictable, high-yielding crop that withstands the variable Ukrainian climate, «Vohnyk» remains one of the most reliable selections in the local pomological catalog.
