Volknica raspberry is a summer large-fruited variety with high yield and low maintenance requirements. The bushes are sprawling, reaching heights of 1.5 to 2 meters, with canes covered in small thorns that require staking or support. This variety has a medium ripening speed; fruits begin ripening in late June and continue until mid-August. Volnitsa has good frost resistance, tolerating temperatures down to -30°C to -35°C, as well as high disease resistance, making it a reliable choice for growing in various climatic conditions.
The berries of the Volnitsa raspberry have a conical shape and a deep red color. Fruit weight ranges from 3.5 to 5 grams. The flesh is aromatic with a harmonious sweet-sour taste, and the stones are almost imperceptible, increasing their appeal to consumers. The yield can reach up to 4 kg per bush, making it profitable for both home and commercial cultivation.
For successful cultivation, choose well-lit areas with light shade. Planting is best done in spring or early autumn, maintaining a distance of 0.7-1 meter between seedlings. Compost or well-rotted organic material should be added to the soil to improve fertility. Regular pruning and removal of damaged canes promote bush rejuvenation and maintain high yield. The berries are versatile: they can be eaten fresh, frozen, or processed. When stored in the refrigerator, fruits retain freshness for 7-10 days, and due to excellent transportability, the variety is suitable for sale in markets and stores.
