Zolushka

The Zolushka strawberry variety is mid-late and universal, suitable for both fresh consumption and processing into juices, jams, and jellies. This variety was bred by crossing Festival and Zenga Zengana and is characterized by high yield. The bushes are vigorous, compact, with dark green large leaves and a waxy coating. Flower stalks are located at leaf level or lower, which facilitates berry harvesting.

Zolushka berries have a blunt-conical shape without a neck, with an average weight ranging from 8 to 23 grams depending on growing conditions. The skin is shiny, orange-red, with seeds moderately embedded in the flesh. The flesh is firm, bright red or orange-red, with a sweet-and-sour dessert flavor and strawberry aroma. The variety has high winter hardiness and resistance to powdery mildew, but is susceptible to gray mold.

Sowing seeds is recommended in March-April, mixing them with sand and evenly distributing them on a moistened surface. Seedlings appear within a month, after which, at the stage of 1-2 true leaves, the plants are transplanted into pots. Soil planting is carried out after the appearance of 6 true leaves, with a row spacing of 25-30 cm and plant spacing of 15-20 cm. Plant care includes regular weeding, loosening, and fertilization with complex fertilizers. Harvest begins in July and continues until late autumn due to the variety's remontancy.
