The Nadezhda strawberry variety is an ultra-early and high-yielding variety, bred for cultivation in colder regions. It begins to fruit very early, even a day earlier than the Alba variety, allowing for a quick harvest. The bushes are strong-growing with a massive leaf apparatus, well-adapted to growing conditions and possess high resistance to common diseases, including gray mold. Thanks to excellent winter hardiness with a stable snow cover, the variety does not require additional covering, which facilitates care during the cold season.
The berries of the Nadezhda variety differ in large size and a proper conical shape. The average weight of berries ranges from 16-17 to 30 grams; they have a rich cherry or dark red hue, combining sweetness with a slight tartness and possess a bright, pronounced strawberry aroma. The berries are characterized by a pleasant texture, do not wrinkle, and maintain their natural gloss, making them attractive for sale and transportation. The absence of small berries facilitates harvesting, making it fast and convenient.
For successful cultivation of the variety, it is recommended to place the bushes in sunny areas with fertile chernozem enriched with peat additives, at a medium irrigation intensity. With proper agrotechnology, the yield can reach up to 1 kg per bush in the second year after planting. The Nadezhda variety is versatile and suitable for both personal estates and commercial cultivation, combining high productivity, disease resistance, and attractive berry taste qualities.
