Krasnoyarska

The strawberry variety Krasnoyarska was bred at the Krasnoyarsk Experimental Station of Pomology by pollinating the Komsomolka variety with a mixture of pollen from the Rumyanaya, Narodnaya, and Polyarnaya varieties. This mid-early variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and is recommended for cultivation in the East Siberian region, including Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Khakasia. The bushes are of medium power, compact in form, with numerous rosettes, while the leaves are small, folded, with a strong waxy coating on the underside and a shiny surface on top.

The berries of the Krasnoyarska variety are small, weighing from 3 to 6 grams, and have an elongated-conical shape without a neck. Their skin is dark red, shiny, and the flesh is dense, red, juicy, with a sour-sweet taste and a faint aroma. The yield of this variety is medium to high, ranging from 3.1 to 6.5 tons per hectare. The berries are well-suited for transportation, which is one of the important advantages of the variety.

The variety has medium resistance to diseases, but weak resistance to powdery mildew is noted. Another disadvantage is the significant reduction in berry size by the last harvest. Despite this, Krasnoyarska is valued for its winter hardiness, attractive appearance of the fruits, and stable yield, making it suitable for cultivation in East Siberian conditions.
