The 'Tender' raspberry variety is a mid-early dessert variety with an erect, medium-sized bush that forms powerful and sturdy canes. One-year-old canes have a reddish tint and are covered with a medium waxy coating, while the thorns are of medium size, soft and purplish, located mainly in the middle part of the cane, which facilitates care for the plant. The leaves are dark green, wrinkled, and moderately curled with blunt teeth along the edges. The bushes are quite powerful, allowing them to be grown with or without support, although using a trellis increases yield.
The berries of this variety are large, red, blunt-conical in shape, with an average weight of about 3.3–5.5 grams and a maximum weight up to 12 grams. The flesh is of medium density, juicy and aromatic, with an excellent sweet-sour flavor that has received a high tasting score. The berries do not drop and are well preserved for up to five days, making them convenient for fresh consumption and processing. The yield of the variety is high and reaches 0.7–0.9 kg per square meter or 30–35 tons per hectare when grown industrially.
