The 'Elegant' raspberry variety is a remontant type featuring a spreading bush of medium height, ranging from 140 to 200 cm. Two-year-old stems are covered with a moderate amount of thorns, mainly located on the lower part of the canes. The berries have a conical or round-conical shape, weighing from 3 to 4.5 grams, with a rich raspberry or bright red color and a light fuzz. The fruits are characterized by juicy flesh with pronounced sweetness and a sweet-and-sour taste, making them particularly attractive to consumers.
The variety is distinguished by high yield—up to 4 kg per bush, with fruiting starting at the end of June and continuing until August-September. 'Elegant' raspberries are self-fertile, which simplifies the pollination process. Bushes withstand frosts down to -30°C well and possess high resistance to major diseases and pests, significantly easing care and enhancing cultivation reliability. Shelf life and transportability of the fruits are at a high level, allowing the berries to be used both for fresh consumption and processing.
For successful cultivation, it is recommended to plant raspberries on sunny areas with fertile, slightly acidic soil and low groundwater levels. The optimal planting time is early spring or early autumn. When planting, maintain a distance of about 1 meter between bushes and leave the root neck at soil level. For poor soils, it is recommended to add compost or manure. Care includes regular watering, tying canes, and timely pruning: in cold regions, fruiting canes are completely removed in autumn, while in warm climatic conditions, only their parts are removed. Thanks to these features, the 'Elegant' variety is excellent for growing in home gardens and is characterized by stable productivity.
