Radish PING PONG

Proven Fusarium Resistance for Intensive Farming

The «Ping Pong» radish, developed by Agrofirma Aelita, is engineered for agricultural operations where pathogen pressure, specifically Fusarium wilt, is a primary yield limiter. By incorporating genetics from A L Tozer and breeding efforts by N.V. Nastenko and V.G. Kachaynik, this variety offers a robust defense against soil-borne diseases, effectively reducing crop losses during the critical seedling stage.

Field Management and Seeding Strategies

Success with «Ping Pong» relies on precise density management to ensure maximum marketable yield. The recommended seeding density of 0.25 to 0.50 million plants per hectare is key to balancing space, light, and nutrient uptake.

• Optimal Density: Maintaining the 0.25–0.50 million plants/ha range prevents overcrowding. Excess density above 0.5 million usually leads to elongated petioles and poor root bulking.
• Cost Efficiency: Because this variety is naturally resistant to Fusarium, it allows farmers to reduce the number of preventative fungicide applications, directly lowering the overall input costs per hectare.
• Operational Versatility: The variety's uniformity makes it highly compatible with modern precision seeders and mechanical harvesting equipment. It fits perfectly into rotational cycles where pathogen buildup is a concern.

For growers focusing on high-quality turnip production, «Ping Pong» provides the necessary assurance that the crop will reach maturity without being compromised by wilt. It is a practical, low-risk choice that delivers consistent, uniform produce suitable for high-end market distribution.
