KING-KONG

Radish of the "King-Kong" variety is a medium-early, large-fruited, and high-yielding variety developed based on local Siberian breeding material. The root crops have a round-flat shape with a smooth, shiny surface and a bright pink-red coloration with white tips. The average weight of one root crop is 20-25 grams. The flesh is white, dense, juicy, and tender, with a delicatessous, weakly spicy taste, rated at 4-4.3 points. The variety is practically not prone to bolting, which contributes to a stable and high yield. The "King-Kong" variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 72 centners per hectare in northern regions. The radish matures quickly - approximately within 25 days after sowing, making it suitable for early forcing both in open ground and under film cover. For obtaining an earlier or later crop, it is recommended to grow radish in protected ground, sowing seeds in early March or September, respectively. Sowing is conducted in rows with inter-row spacing of 10-12 cm and distance between seeds of 2-3 cm at a depth of 1-1.5 cm. An important condition for successful growing is the selection of an area with light, highly fertile soil, as well as regular loosening and maintenance of soil moisture. During the summer period with a long light day, plantings are recommended to be shaded. "King-Kong" radish is widely used in cooking, especially in salads, thanks to its pleasant spicy taste and juicy flesh. In addition to taste qualities, it has useful properties: improves digestion, promotes fat breakdown, helps lower blood sugar levels, and increases appetite. These qualities make it especially useful for people with diabetes and those monitoring their health.
