Radish Informer

Stable yields with record-breaking timelines

When the spring planting window is tight and the market demands premium quality instantly, the "Informer" variety from German breeder P.H.Petersen Saatzucht Lundsgaard becomes a cornerstone of efficient crop scheduling. In high-intensity vegetable production, this radish has established itself as a reliable choice with a predictable growth cycle: from germination to harvest-ready maturity in just 18–20 days. For the grower, this requires a disciplined approach to irrigation and nutrient management, as the variety is sensitive to moisture fluctuations which can immediately stall root development.

Field observations and operational experience

• Growth dynamics: Thanks to P.H.Petersen's genetics, the variety shows an aggressive start. In greenhouse conditions or early polytunnels, the plant maintains a compact foliage rosette without excessive stretching, which simplifies mechanical harvesting and reduces manual labor requirements.
• Technological performance: The roots are highly uniform in shape and size. With proper management, the risk of cracking is minimal; the breeders have successfully engineered a high resistance to soil moisture stress into this hybrid.
• Crop maintenance: This variety requires careful nitrogen management. Excessive nitrogen promotes foliage over root development, so we recommend prioritizing potassium-based fertilizers during the second half of the vegetation period to ensure firm, high-quality roots.

"Informer" is a choice for those prioritizing efficiency and speed. While it is forgiving of minor agronomic slips, it truly thrives under drip irrigation, which provides the consistent soil moisture level needed for optimal results. For professional farms, it represents the reliability guaranteed by the originator, P.H.Petersen Saatzucht Lundsgaard from Germany.
