Description Kauanchi-10
This variety originates from Central Asia. Breeder: A. N. Leyn. Recommended for wide-scale field testing in the North Caucasus region.

Medium-sized tree, with a broad pyramidal crown of medium density and strong foliage. The angle of skeletal branch divergence is about 30°. Branches are slightly knobby, medium thickness, gray in color with dense, small lenticels, making the bark appear rough. The trunk is gray with brown, densely distributed lenticels, and its surface is rough.

Shoots are medium and thin, slightly knobby, brown, shiny, with a tuft of hairs at the tip, many small, light-brown, round lenticels. Internodes are medium-sized. Buds are small, conical, pressed, without hairs. Leaves are medium-sized and small, elliptical, dark green, shiny. Leaf blade is slightly wrinkled, slightly convex, medium thickness, leathery, woolly, yellowish underside; venation is strongly expressed, fine-netted, uncolored. Leaf apex is slightly elongated, base is rounded, margin slightly wavy, petiole short, medium thickness, anthocyanin-colored.
Flowers are large, solitary, light-pink with bright veins. Pedicel is long, weakly hairy, sepals small, hairy, weakly toothed. Filaments are pale lavender, anthers yellow, pistils located below the stamens. Petals are large, oval.

Fruits are medium-sized, pear-shaped, surface smooth, sometimes slightly ribbed, especially around the calyx. Hairs are gray, woolly, but easily rubbed off upon ripening. Main color is yellow-orange. Calyx is closed, large, sepals narrow, medium length with teeth. Receptacle is deep, medium width, slightly ribbed. Funnel is narrow, sunken, slightly rusted with projections. Heart is asymmetrical, oval, small size, located closer to the upper part of the fruit. Seeds are medium-sized, slender with a pointed tip.
Flesh is creamy, firm, crisp, sweet, with a strong aroma, edible fresh. In Kuban conditions, it contains: dry matter — 13.7%, sugars — 9.6%, titratable acids — 0.40%, ascorbic acid — 17.16 mg/100g, pectin — 0.52 mg/100g raw mass.

Fruits ripen in the first decade of October and can be stored for 50-70 days. Fruit transportability is good.
Begins fruiting in the 3rd-4th year. Yield is 130-160 centners per hectare. Winter hardiness is medium, drought resistance is high, susceptible to fungal diseases in epiphytotic years.

Advantages of the variety: high fruit quality (edible fresh), drought resistance of the tree.

Disadvantages of the variety: susceptibility to fungal diseases.
