Potato variety Smack is a medium-late table variety of Russian selection, primarily intended for cultivation in the Far East region. The plant is of medium height with semi-erect leaves of large intermediate type and medium-sized flower, characterized by the absence or very weak anthocyanic coloration on the inner side. Tubers are oval-round in shape with deep eyes, skin and flesh are yellow. Marketable tuber mass ranges from 100 to 126 grams, and the number of tubers per plant ranges from 8 to 12. Starch content is within 12.8–14.1%, corresponding to culinary type AB, making this potato suitable for salads, soups, boiling and frying.

The yield of variety Smack is quite high, ranging from 169 to 315 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 465 centners per hectare, exceeding the standards of some other varieties. Tubers' marketability ranges from 76–92%, and storability reaches 94%, ensuring good product preservation during storage. According to ripening time, the variety is medium-late, cultivation period ranges from 95 to 110 days.

The variety demonstrates resistance to potato cancer pathogen, but is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode. It is also moderately susceptible to phytophthora on both foliage and tubers. Due to its characteristics and high yield, potato Smack is one of the successful domestic developments of recent years, especially in demand in Far East conditions.
