Description Amber
Amber potato is a medium-late table variety specifically developed for the Far East of Russia. The plant is tall, stem-type with semi-erect growth, medium to large leaves, open and green in color. Tubers are oval-round with medium-depth eyes, covered with smooth yellow skin, and the flesh also has a yellow hue. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 93 to 208 grams, and the number of tubers per plant is 5 to 8. The starch content in the tubers is 12.5%, corresponding to culinary type AB, making the potato suitable for soups, salads, and frying.

The yield of the Amber variety is high and stable, reaching 183 to 286 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 354 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding the standards of Nikulinский and Evgiрия varieties. The tuber marketability ranges from 91-99%, and storability reaches 94%, ensuring good product preservation during storage. The taste of the potato is rated as good to excellent, making it attractive to consumers.

The variety exhibits resistance to potato cancer pathogen (pathotype I), enhancing its reliability in cultivation. However, it is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and the causative agent of late blight affecting both foliage and tubers. The developer of this variety is the Federal State Budgetary Research Institution "Primorsky Research Institute of Agriculture". All these characteristics make Amber potato an excellent choice for cultivation in regions with similar climatic conditions and quality requirements.
