Potato Floris — an early-maturing table variety intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. The plant is of medium height, intermediate type, with a semi-erect to spreading bush form. Leaves are large, green, and covered to intermediate type. Flower corolla is medium or large size, blue-purple in color with intense anthocyanin pigmentation on the inner side.
Floris variety tubers are oval-shaped with small or medium-depth eyes. Skin is yellow, flesh is light-yellow. Average weight of marketable tubers is about 120 grams. Starch content in tubers reaches 15.4%, ensuring good taste and excellent culinary qualities. Marketability of the variety is high — around 84%, and storability reaches 96%, allowing for long-term storage without quality loss.
The variety is characterized by high yield: marketable yield varies from 149 to 286 centners per hectare, which is 41–123 centners higher than standard varieties Mia and Udaча. Maximum yield may reach 409 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding the performance of the Gorianka variety. Potato Floris is resistant to potato cancer pathogen, pathotype I, as well as golden potato cyst nematode. According to breeders’ data, the variety is also resistant to leaf curling, enhancing its reliability and stability under various cultivation conditions.
