Sunflower Nova

Resilient yield performance in high-pressure fields

The «Nova» sunflower hybrid, developed by the Hungarian brand Woodstock in collaboration with MATE NTTI, is designed for farmers managing fields with significant weed and disease pressure. This hybrid focuses on practical agronomic efficiency, allowing for predictable performance across varied climate zones.

Field Application and Performance

With a vegetation period of 100–110 days, Nova is an excellent choice for farmers who need to optimize their harvest schedule while ensuring stable oil content (ranging from 45% to 50%). Its early-to-mid maturity helps avoid late-summer heat stress, securing the yield potential of the sunflower head.

• Clearfield Technology: Full resistance to the "Euro-Lightning" herbicide system allows for highly effective weed control, including broomrape management, without compromising the crop's vegetative development.
• Agronomic Health: The genetic background provided by Hungarian research institutions ensures strong tolerance against Verticillium, Sclerotinia, Phomopsis, Phoma, and Powdery mildew. This minimizes the need for multiple fungicide interventions.

For operations aiming to balance output quality with input cost management, Nova offers a robust solution. Its adaptability makes it suitable for conventional and reduced tillage systems where pathogen control is a critical operational task.
